Nicolas Kuntzelmann

Counter-tenor

Nicolas Kuntzelmann is a young countertenor from Savoie. After studying opera singing at the Annecy Conservatoire in Eva Kiss's class, he went on to train as a professional singer, specialising in early music. At just 20 years old, he entered the CNSMD in Lyon in the early music singing class of Robert Expert and Anne Delafosse.


In 2019, on the initiative of keyboardist Benjamin Delale, he is taking part in the creation of the ensemble La Camerata Chromatica, specialising in chromatic music of the 16th and 17th centuries. In recent years, he has sung under the direction of renowned conductors such as Paul Agnew, William Christie, Raphaël Pichon, Sébastien Daucé, Stephan MacLeod, François-Xavier Roth, Ludwig Wicki and Leonard Slatkin. He performs regularly with early music ensembles (Vox Luminis, Concerto Soave, Alkymia, Suonare e Cantare) and as a chorister and soloist with Les Arts Florissants, as well as with the Spirito choir, directed by Nicole Corti.


In 2021, he won 3rd prize at the Concours International de Chant Baroque de Froville.
